Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-22
This is the privacy policy for mellowpose.com, the home of Mellowpose’s writing on Mellowpose. It explains what is collected, why, and how to change it.
Exercising Your Rights
Readers in the UK and EU have GDPR rights; readers in California and other US states have comparable rights under CCPA/CPRA and similar statutes. In practice this means you can ask to see, correct, delete, or export your data, object to certain processing, and opt out of sale or sharing for advertising. We honour Global Privacy Control. The State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share pages have the detail.
Email Subscriptions
Mailing-list signup requires confirmation from the address given, which stops anyone subscribing you without your knowledge. Unsubscribe links and a postal address appear in every message, and we do not pass the list to anyone.
How We Use It
Purposes: operating mellowpose.com; measuring which of our guides, comparisons and reference pages draw readers; sending the newsletter to subscribers; and supporting advertising where it is displayed.
Retention & Security
Data lifespans are tied to purpose — analytics on the provider’s expiry schedule, email addresses until you leave the list, comments until they are taken down. Protection is by way of restricted access and encrypted transport, applied proportionately. No online service can be perfectly secure.
Types of Information
Information reaches us in two ways. Automatically, through server logs and any analytics tool in use — IP address, device, browser, referrer, and which of our guides, comparisons and reference pages were opened. Directly, through anything you fill in: a newsletter box, a comment form, or an email. Given what we write about, this is worth being explicit about: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
On Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage are covered separately, in detail, in our Cookie Policy.
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Partners and Providers
The parties that may receive data are our hosting provider, any analytics service in use, the email platform behind the newsletter, and advertising networks where advertising is served. Advertising and analytics vendors generally act as independent controllers; the rest act as processors on our instruction.
Children’s Privacy
Readers are assumed to be adults. We neither target nor knowingly collect information from children below 13, or below 16 in jurisdictions setting that limit; such information is deleted if found.
